About our products
To help you choose your lingerie and swimwear based on the qualities most important to you, we've assigned ethical product attributes to each of our designs.
You'll find product attribute badges against each and every item you visit in the ColieCo store. Find out exactly what each badge represents below!

This product is ethically handmade to order by ColieCo | ![]() |
This product is made from locally-sourced materials |
Every garment bearing the ColieCo label is handmade to order in our in-house studio in Sagres, Portugal. ColieCo products are crafted in a safe and comfortable working environment, and every person involved in the process of producing your lingerie is paid a fair living wage. |
At ColieCo, we work to source as many product components as possible from within the EU to limit the transit of materials from their point of manufacture to the point of garment production. All of our elastic is spun and dyed locally, and even our sew-in labels are woven and printed in the UK. |

This product is made from materials supplied by independent small businesses | ![]() |
This product is made primarily from organically-grown fibres |
ColieCo is proud to support other independent small businesses. We believe that indies deliver authenticity, individuality, variety, and care and quality in their products. We source most of our material and all of our elastic from family-run businesses, and also work with indie pattern designers, digital print houses and photographers. |
ColieCo uses jersey and silk fabrics made from organically-grown bamboo and manufactured in safe, closed-loop processes. Bamboo has many environmental benefits over cotton, with bamboo producing a high-density, high-yield crop, sequestering much higher amounts of CO2 than even young forests, minimising soil erosion, and requiring no irrigation, pesticides or fertilisers. |

This product is made primarily from reclaimed fabric | ![]() |
This product is made primarily from fabric with a low carbon footprint |
ColieCo works closely with suppliers who reclaim industrial line ends and offcuts otherwise destined for landfill from fast fashion retailers. The fast fashion industry loses more than 15% of its fabric to the factory floor, representing a phenomenal waste of resources and needless impact on the environment. We are proud to offer these textiles a second chance in life! |
We work to minimise the carbon footprint of all the garments we produce, but these products are made from fabrics with an inherently low carbon footprint. Take, for examples, our 100% RPET recycled polyester fabric and our super-soft cotton jersey fabric made from organically-grown bamboo. |

This product is made primarily from digitally printed fabric | ![]() |
This product is made using processes designed to minimise fabric waste |
All of the patterned scuba jersey fabric we use, as well as the RPET recycled polyester fabric used in our PORTO range, is digitally printed. Digitally printing fabric produces close to zero water waste, unlike traditional, inefficient and environmentally-unsound dip-dyeing, which employs synthetic and often toxic chemicals commonly discharged into public waterways. |
ColieCo works with industry line end fabrics, otherwise to be consigned to waste by fast fashion. We also optimise our fabric cutting processes to minimise waste. As all of the fabric pieces used to construct our garments are hand drawn and cut, we can ensure that close to zero fabric is wasted. |
