About our products
To help you choose your lingerie and swimwear based on the qualities most important to you, we've assigned Ethical Product Attributes to each of our designs.
You'll find product attribute badges against each and every item you visit in the ColieCo store. Find out exactly what each badge represents below.
This product is ethically made to order by ColieCo | This product is made from locally-sourced materials |
Every garment bearing the ColieCo label is made to order in our SANE Standard certified, in-house studio in Sagres, Portugal. ColieCo products are crafted in a safe and comfortable working environment, and every person involved in the process of producing your lingerie is paid a fair living wage. |
At ColieCo, we work to source as many product components as possible from within the EU to limit the transit of materials from their point of manufacture to the point of garment production. Several of our fabrics are produced, all of our elastic is spun and dyed, and even our sew-in labels are woven and printed in Europe. |
This product is made from materials supplied by independent small businesses | This product is made primarily from sustainable natural fibres |
ColieCo is proud to support other independent small businesses. We believe that indies deliver authenticity, individuality, variety, and care and quality in their products. Most of our material is supplied by small and family-run businesses, and we also work with indie pattern designers, digital print houses and photographers. |
Each of the virgin fabrics ColieCo uses is made from an inherently sustainable and sustainably-processed natural fibre. The TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres used to create the fabric used in our TENCEL™ Intimate range derive from sustainably sourced, renewable wood grown without irrigation, pesticides or fertilisers, and our bamboo silk alternative is made from organically-grown bamboo. Both raw materials are sourced exclusively from FSC-certified forests and closed-loop processed. |
This product is made primarily from reclaimed fabric | This product is made primarily from recycled fabric |
ColieCo works closely with suppliers who reclaim line ends and offcuts otherwise destined for landfill or incineration from fast fashion manufacturers. The fast fashion industry loses more than 15% of its fabric to the factory floor, representing a phenomenal waste of resources and needless impact on the environment. We are proud to offer these textiles a second chance at life! |
Over 90% of all plastic produced worldwide still isn't recycled, and the 500 billion PET drinks bottles produced every year make up a large proportion of this. Our RPET recycled polyester fabric is made from 85% recycled PET drinks bottles, helping to keep plastic out of landfill and our oceans and waterways. |
This product is made primarily from fabric with a low carbon footprint | This product is made using processes designed to minimise fabric waste |
We work to minimise the carbon footprint of all the garments we produce, but these products are made from fabrics with an inherently low carbon footprint. Take, for example, our RPET recycled polyester fabric and our super-soft TENCEL™ Lyocell fabric made from sustainably-sourced wood pulp. |
ColieCo works with industry line end fabrics, otherwise to be consigned to waste by fast fashion manufacturers. We also optimise our fabric cutting processes to minimise waste. As all of the fabric pieces used to construct our garments are hand drawn and cut, we can ensure that close to zero fabric is wasted. |
