Eco-Stylist awards ColieCo its Gold standard
Leading ethical brand guide Eco-Stylist has awarded ColieCo its Gold standard - its highest accolade - reserved for brands which "go above and beyond, even for ethical fashion."
Eco-Stylist's analysts research fashion brands to identify the top performing labels for both people and the planet, scoring them based on fair labour practices, sustainable production, and transparency.
And of a current total of 31 underwear brands Eco-Stylist has scored highly enough to feature in its guide, only one specialist lingerie brand - ColieCo - has been awarded the Eco-Stylist Gold standard.
Eco-Stylist has also recognised ColieCo as a "category leader" in both sustainable production and transparency.
What is Eco-Stylist?
Eco-Stylist is an ethical fashion guide, which since its founding in 2018, has researched thousands of fashion brands to understand how they rate in labour standards and sustainability.
Eco-Stylist uses its sustainable brand criteria - which address a wide array of factors, including maker well-being, the use of sustainable raw materials, environmental impacts across processes, transparency, and the leadership of the brand within the ethical fashion sphere - to calculate an overall score for each brand it assesses. If a brand reaches Eco-Stylist's threshold score, it becomes eligible to feature in its Sustainable Brands Directory.

Beyond its brand guide, Eco-Stylist also offers personal shopping subscriptions, an ethical brand marketplace, and in-depth articles on various aspects of ethical and sustainable fashion, including shopping guides and tips, and lists of brands for ethical shoppers to both support and avoid.
How does Eco-Stylist categorise brands?
Brands rated by Eco-Stylist fall into one of four categories, depending on the score they achieve during their assessment.
Brands which don't meet the threshold score
90% of all brands assessed by Eco-Stylist don't meet the threshold score required to be featured in Eco-Stylist's brand guide. The remaining 10% fall into one of three categories, based on their score.
Eco-Stylist Certified brands
These brands meet the Eco-Stylist threshold score and are eligible to be featured in Eco-Stylist's brand guide.
Eco-Stylist Silver and Gold brands
These brands surpass Eco-Stylist's threshold score and go a step further, identifying them as leaders in the ethical and sustainable fashion community. Gold awarded brands are considered to "go above and beyond, even for ethical fashion."
