Custom Orders - Making Your Underwear Your Own

Every body is different. Every wardrobe is different. And sometimes, the lingerie you really want is the lingerie that doesn't quite exist yet.

One of the things we love most about making lingerie to order here at ColieCo is being able to create pieces that are a little bit more you. That might mean adjusting the shape or fit of a favourite style, choosing your own colour combination, tweaking a design, or even bringing an old ColieCo favourite back from the dead.

All of that we can achieve through custom orders - just contact us to tell us what you need, and we'll do our best to make it happen.

Over the summer, we've received some fantastic custom order requests, so we thought we'd share a few of our favourites with you.

Custom cup shapes

One of our most common customisation requests is a change to the shape of bra cups.

Every bust is unique, and sometimes a small change to the proportions of a bra can make a big difference to how it fits and feels. We can work with you to lengthen or shorten cups, widen or narrow them, increase or reduce coverage, and make other adjustments where possible.

For example, one of our most dedicated customers recently returned for another set of DANI and ASTRID STRAPPY soft cup bras with flattened cups, this time in our popular Eye Candy print.

We've worked with this customer previously to find their perfect cup size and shape; and keeping those details on record means that each time they return, we can apply that size and shape to other suitable bras from across our collection.

Because we're making your garment specifically for you, we're always ready to have conversations about the little details that can make a piece work better for your particular body.

Custom colours

This is one of the most fun types of custom order for us in the ColieCo Studio.

Choosing from our wide range of fabric options, you can create your own colour combinations rather than simply choosing from the options shown on the product page. Mix and match colours, switch up panels, or put together a combination that you've imagined yourself.

We recently made a LANA soft cup bra in a striking forest green and powder white mesh combination for one of our longstanding customers. It's a colour pairing we haven't offered as a standard option, but it worked beautifully!

That's one of the joys of working with a small, made-to-order lingerie studio: if we have the materials and the design allows for it, there can be much more flexibility than you might expect.

What about old ColieCo favourites?

When we introduce new styles, we occasionally retire older designs to keep the ColieCo collection fresh. Unfortunately, that can mean saying goodbye to some customer favourites along the way.

But retiring a design from the active collection doesn't necessarily mean it's gone forever.

We keep our old patterns in the ColieCo Archive, and where we still have suitable fabrics available, we're often able to bring a legacy design back to life as a custom order.

Another longstanding customer loved the fit of her ageing ASTER and MIDNIGHT low rise thongs. Although neither design is part of our current Prints or Mesh lingerie collections, we were delighted to make her some brand-new replacements using some of our newer prints and mesh colours.

We think that's a rather lovely way to keep a favourite piece of lingerie going.

Design customisations

And then there are the really creative requests.

We receive a wonderfully wide variety of custom design ideas, from relatively simple tweaks to some requests that leave us scratching our heads and wondering exactly where we're going to begin!

We can't always promise that we'll be able to make every idea work. There are practical considerations around pattern construction, fabric availability, support and the way a garment needs to function on the body.

But we're always happy to have a conversation, and we'll always do our very best to help you make your underwear dreams come true.

One recent example involved a variation of our KALEIDOSCOPE soft cup bra. The customer wanted an 'everyday' version of the original design, keeping its fun character while making a few changes to the construction.

We replaced the cut-out strap and hardware detailing on the standard design with a full gore (the technical term for the central panel of fabric between the two cups), creating a super-comfortable, wire-free bra that still provides plenty of support.

It's a good example of how a custom order doesn't necessarily mean starting from scratch. Sometimes it's simply about taking a design you already love and adapting it to make it work even better for you.
